Public Drop-In Meeting
Thank you to all who attended a public drop-in meeting to review these plans and provide feedback on July 14th!
If you missed the meeting, you can still view the meeting materials here. You can download the public meeting boards focused on the comprehensive plan here, and those focused on the downtown master plan here. If you were unable to make the drop-in meeting, you can also submit comments online.
Adoption Meetings
The Planning Board reviewed the draft Comprehensive Plan and the draft Downtown Master Plan and recommended the plans' adoptions to the Town Board on August 13th. The Town Board held a public hearing to review the draft plans on September 8th at 6:00pm. They adopted both Plans at this meeting and you can download the adopted plans here:
Downtown Workshops
Three downtown Workshops were held in March and April. During the workshops, meeting participants contributed ideas for the future of downtown Mocksville through a variety of group discussions. If you missed a workshop, the slide presentations can be downloaded from the link below. Also, you can download a copy of updates to the Downtown Mocksville Collaborative and Planning Board at the links below.
Downtown Workshop #1
The first workshop was held on Monday, March 16th at the Education Building. The workshop included a presentation about downtown and the main opportunities and challenges. Approximately 35 people attended, working in small groups to begin developing ideas for the future of downtown.
Downtown Workshop #2
The second downtown workshop was held on Monday, March 30th. Meeting participants reviewed and provided feedback on ideas generated during the first workshop.
Downtown Workshop #3
The third and final downtown workshop was held on Monday, April 20th. The ideas and concepts from the previous two workshops were presented and discussed, providing direction for preparing the draft Downtown Master Plan.
Presentations
Public Kickoff Presentation
On November 4th, the Town Board held a meeting at the Mocksville Education Building to officially launch the Comprehensive Plan Update and the Downtown Master Planning process! Project consultants shared details about the planning effort and explained how attendees can get involved. You can view the presentation shared at this meeting by clicking the box below.
Initial Findings
A community survey was available online throughout the month of November 2025. Thank you to the more than 600 people who participated! The survey results were shared with the Planning Board on Thursday, December 11th and the presentation, which included these results, as well as initial findings from background research, can be viewed and downloaded below.
Downtown Assessment
An initial downtown assessment was presented to the Downtown Collaborative on Monday, February 9th. This presentation can be viewed and downloaded below.
Draft Growth Strategy
On February 12th, the Planning Board reviewed a summary of background research and initial public input, as well as a draft growth strategy that is currently being refined.
Update on Draft Plans
On June 8, the Downtown Mocksville Collaborative reviewed the Draft Downtown Master Plan. On June 11, the Planning Board reviewed an updated Draft Downtown Master Plan and the Draft Comprehensive Plan. You can view the slides from the combined updates by clicking below.
Adoption Meeting
On September 8, the Mocksville Board of Commissioners held a public hearing to consider adopting the Draft Comprehensive Plan and the Draft Downtown Master Plan. After the public hearing, they adopted both plans. You can view the slides from the public hearing by clicking below.
